Palm Web OS Runs WebKit

Yep! Palm Pre’s operating system is based on WebKit.

Time to add Palm to my list of all the places you can find WebKit.

Palm Web OS’s architecture is a close cousin to what our team at Openwave built into V7 in 2004. V7 had an app platform where you could build apps that used SVG, CSS, HTML and JavaScript with sexy animated and transitioned UI. Check out Openwave’s original position paper for some interesting of our team’s 2004 predictions of how the web would evolve.
